Moving!

Hi all! Hope you are enjoying this week before Christmas (my favorite time of year).

One of my resolutions this year was to take my art hobby to the next level and make a business...and I've just managed to squeeze it in before 2015 is upon us!

For that reason, I'm taking my blogging activities over to my new website for now...hopefully this will be something that I actually update more often and fill with meaningful and fun inspiration, tidbits about my life and projects I'm working on! Give it a look if you haven't already--it would make my day to hear from you!

In the meantime, please still follow along with me on pinterest, instagram and twitter

Have the merriest Christmas and a happy new year!

SNAPSHOTS | city lights

This past weekend was the glorious result of a spontaneously booked flight after a "semester" or two of life in the real world devoid of the community of my college girlfriends--you know, the ones who don't miss a Taco Tuesday, will come over to make cookies with a bottle of wine in hand at a moment's notice, and so on and so forth. Because we are no longer right down the hall or across the table at Starbucks from one another, it's way less simple to stay caught up in each others' lives. And since such friends happen to live up north in bustling cities while I am in small-town south Florida...it's a no-brainer as to who's going to do the traveling.

Some quality time in Philadelphia and a whirlwind trip to NYC were the perfect opportunity to catch up, supercharge my holiday spirit (it's been going strong since mid-September to be honest), not to mention break in those cold weather clothes I bought on sale last year in anticipation of a move above the mason-dixon that never came to fruition. Any opportunity to wear a coat and scarf and boots and vest without sweating is like living in a dream for this Florida gal.

Seriously, the city is so magical. Holiday travel is the absolute best.

SHOP | christmas spreadsheet + black friday

Hi dear friends! I hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with loved ones full of food, fun and family. We are LOVING the weather right now in South Florida and took full advantage with the windows open all day (with the smell of smoked turkey blowing in occasionally #heavenly) and some post-feast cornhole.

Black Friday is one of those things that I prep for each year, yet rarely make it out of bed in time for doorbusters and things of that nature (as in...I think that happened once). Fun as the adrenaline may be, I much prefer what I'm doing right now...going through my Christmas shopping spreadsheet (link to the google sheet HERE) and checking things off left and right, from the comfort of the kitchen with a piping hot cup of coffee. I am a spreadsheet FREAK and use google docs to organize everything from tailgate shopping lists (later post perhaps?) to budget tracking to media planning for clients at work.

I hope this one helps you stay organized! I've been pasting links to gift ideas since Halloween so this Black Friday has been a breeze--speaking of which, here is where I'm planning on doing some shopping today and this weekend:

ANTHROPOLOGIE: 25% off everything with code HOLIDAY25 (one of my fav one-stop gift shops)
ASHLEY BROOKE DESIGNS: 25% off everything with code BLACKFRIDAY (her mugs...so cute)
BARNES & NOBLE: 30% off one item with code BFRIDAY14 (bought this calendar for more than a few people on my list)
HOBBY LOBBY: Just go there.
J. CREW: 30% off full-price styles with code HOLIDAY
J. CREW FACTORY: 50% off everything with code THANKS (shopping for myself here...)
KATE SPADE: 25% off everything with code HOLLYJOLLY
MICHAEL'S: Lots and lots. (One of my every-year Black Friday stops.)
PENDLETON: Free shipping with code GIFTSHIP
RIFLE PAPER CO.: Up to 30% off sitewide (and if you're in Orlando--sidewalk sale)
SUR LA TABLE: Up to 70% off!!
WEST ELM: Up to 25% off with code SUPERSALE
WILLIAMS-SONOMA: Free shipping with code FREESHIP (one of few places I insist on shopping in real life)
WISTERIA: 20% off everything! Code RUDOLPH
WORLD MARKET: Too much going on here to list!

Happy shopping, friends!!

Back at it

HI FRIENDS.

So, keeping up with a blog is hard. It's not easy to write content that strikes the right balance of creative, unique and meaningful--all things that are important to me in sharing bits and pieces of my life with y'all on here. I've been brainstorming and brainstorming different places that I'd like to see this blog go, but at a certain point you've gotta just jump right in and quit the thinkin' to make things happen.

So I'm back! Maybe it's the crisp fall weather that's hit South Florida in recent weeks, or the fact that I've been listening to Christmas music for at least a month now (years of piano instruction have me conditioned to break out the holiday sheet music the moment the wind blows October). But something about this time of year has me itching to write, blog and just celebrate in general.

It's good to be back! And do you not want to collect pinecones right now to create such a welcoming autumn garland as the one in this picture?

ENTERTAIN | summer brunch

Am I the only one here who lives for brunch? There's just something about waking up, a big meal, bottomless coffee, washing down that coffee with a mimosa or bellini...you get the jist. There aren't a ton of places to brunch in my hometown where I currently live, so weekend brunches usually consist of rolling out of bed and into the kitchen. And what could be better than that? Though I will say that one of the most exciting parts of eventually moving to the city is without a doubt the brunch scene.

Enter my latest Rue-la-la find...a sale on Lilly Pulitzer gifts? Pretty sure there's no turning that down. I love Lilly prints, but prefer them on a smaller scale--phone case, notebooks, planners, for sure, but I'm not too big on wearing the big bold prints (save these palazzo pants--best impulse purchase of my life).

Which is why I couldn't resist buying a set or two of these beauties:

They came in the mail today and I am so. flippin. excited. I just can't wait to put them to use in my future apartment! My family isn't much for a Lilly tablescape, brunch or otherwise...so I am planning on using them as my summer and spring entertaining go-tos when I move. I'm sure I'll find an occasion to whip them out before then, but into the hope chest they go. And now for a little weekend brunch inspiration for y'all:

Don't you think this tablescape would look great jazzed up with some patterned plates? On an unrelated note...how delightful would a brunch wedding reception be? Pass the croissants, si vous plait.

And how precious is the gingham-floral-vintage postcard mix going on here? I love the idea of bringing a picnic onto a more organized table setting.

Y'all treat yourselves this weekend.

Cheers,

Erin
